3 Books To Add To Your Reading List Immediately

Those who know me, know of my lifelong love of reading. This week I would like to share a few books that have influenced me and the way I run my dental practice. Each of the following books have powerful ideas which can help guide you to create a successful world-class office.

Gino Wickman’s “Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business”

What I like about Traction is it breaks down the management of any business into very easy to implement steps. We follow a lot of the stuff in this book in our practice and when we work with clients. I have given out so many copies of this book.

Jeffrey Gitomer’s “Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude”

We use “The Yes Attitude” in my practice to offer world-class service.  We aim to say “yes” to anything our patients ask for:

        • Do we accept their insurance? Yes.
        • Can they get an appointment today? Yes.
        • Can they ….? Yes.

This book is a collection of many short lessons. You can read one or two pages a day and get pumped up with the positive attitude.

Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”

This is one of the best selling books of all time. Hill studied the common qualities that wealthy and successful men shared. By distilling these qualities, he developed what he called a “philosophy of achievement” which includes the master mind principle. I have personally made a habit of reading “Think and Grow Rich” each January, and have done so for many years.

Remember, there is a huge gap between knowledge and implementation. I’ve seen dentists who are junkies for knowledge but never get anything done. Avoid this trap. Successful practices take the knowledge they gain and turn it into a clear action plan.
